This project involved the complete renovation of a 21,000 sq.ft space including the removal and replacement of 2 escalators and one elevator as well as a complete replacement of the 2 entrances.The major obstacle for the project was the ceiling height of the space. The lower rotunda space is 48ft tall which required large lifts in order to complete the demolition as well as the new ceilings; the logistics of coordinating the lifts in and out of the space was extremely challenging. In addition to the logistics of the project, the design called for curved bulkhead throughout the space; which was a difficult detail to achieve. Overall, the project came in under budget and on time; a successful project for both Reliance and the Owner.
